I am a student of Distance Education. Where can I collect my hall tickets? What should I produce in the examinations hall?

A Student who writes examinations at Karaikudi examination centre can collect the hall ticket from the office of Controller of examinations. Student who has opted a centre other than Karaikudi centre can collect the hall ticket from his/her respective examination centre  two days before the commencement of the examinations.

You have to produce in the examination hall
1) the hall ticket with your photograph duly attested by a Gazetted Officer
2) the original identity card issued by the D.D.E

I am not satisfied with the marks awarded to my answer scripts. What remedy I have?

You can apply for revaluation of your answer scripts through offline  from the date of publication of results on the University website and also educational service provider’s web site.

The request for revaluation should be sent in the prescribed application form. The application can be downloaded from the University web site. The demand draft for revaluation fee should be drawn in favour of the The Registrar, Alagappa University payable at Karaikudi. You are requested to enclose the copy of the result, downloaded from the web site, along with the application form.

There is no provision for revaluation of practical papers. Filled in revaluation application form must reach the Controller of Examinations within 10 days for Affiliated colleges and 10 days for Distance Education  from the date of publication of results. The application duly filled in should be submitted to the Controller of Examinations only through the Head of the University Department/ Principal of Constituent College/ Affiliated College. Students of Distance Education can send the revaluation application form directly to the office of Controller of Examinations. Incomplete / defective application will be rejected and the revaluation fee will neither be refunded nor adjusted.

There is no provision for revaluation of the answer scripts for which double valuation procedure is followed (example: MPhil).

The fee & time duration for apply revaluation is as given below

What is Special Supplementary Examination and who are eligible to apply for this examination?

Students of University Departments and Affiliated colleges are eligible to apply for this Special Supplementary examination.

Special supplementary examination will be conducted at the end of the academic year for those students who have successfully completed all papers except one paper.

The special supplementary examinations will be held immediately after publication of the April Examination results. The examination will be conducted at KARAIKUDI only.

Applications should reach the Controller of Examinations through the Principal of the respective college where the students last studied. A fee of Rs.1000/- will be collected per candidate as examination fee. Marks obtained in the special supplementary examination of candidate shall not be considered for ranking purposes.

How to get a Duplicate IMS (Individual Mark Statement) certificate?


The duplicate certificate(s) will be issued to the students on submission of the following
1) Request letter from the candidate
2) A demand draft for Rs.500/- per certificate in favour of The Registrar, Alagappa University  Payable at karaikudi
 

How to get a Duplicate PC/CMS/Degree (Provisional/Cumulative Mark Statement) certificate?

The duplicate certificate(s) will be issued to the students on submission of the following
1) Request letter from the candidate
2) Original Non Traceable letter or missing certificate from the Police Station
3) Original Affidavit from the Notary public in Rs 20/ stamped paper
4) A photocopy of the original certificate (if available)
5) A demand draft for  Rs. 500/-in favour of The Registrar, Alagappa University Payable at karaikudi for PC/CMS -per certificate and Rs.1000/- for Degree certificate


How to get Certificate of Genuineness?

Genuineness certificate will be issued within two days from the date of receipt of request letter. The request letter should accompany
1) a photocopy of Consolidated mark Statement/Provisional Certificate/Degree/Diploma certificate of candidate
2) a demand draft for Rs.500/ in case of Government and Government Aided Institutions and Rs. 1000/ in case of Non Governmental organization and individuals. (DD should be taken in favour of the Registrar, Alagappa University Payable at Karaikudi)

How to order for Transcripts?

1) a request letter from the applicant
2) a photocopy of Consolidated mark Statement/Provisional Certificate/Degree/Diploma certificate of candidate
3) a demand draft for Rs.1000/. in favour of the Registrar, Alagappa University Payable at Karaikudi Transcripts will be issued within two days from the date of receipt of request letter.

I have completed my UG/PG programme through Distance education mode. I did not receive my degree certificate and cumulative mark statement. Recently I have changed my residential address. How can I get my certificates?

Normally, the individual, cumulative mark statements and provisional certificates are sent to the students to the address in the University records within two months from the date of publication of results. If you have moved to new residential address, you must inform your new address to the Directorate of Distance Education, Alagappa University by paying fee of Rs, 100/. Then only the certificate will be sent to the new address

I have received Cumulative Mark Statement and Provisional Certificate but still I have not received my degree certificate. When can I get?

The degrees are to be approved by the Chancellor of the University/Governor of Tamil Nadu in the Annual Convocation function which will be normally held in January/February. For instance the degrees of graduates who pass in 2010-2011 will be approved in Jan/Feb 2012 convocation. Hence the students have to wait until the convocation is over to receive their degree certificates.

I have not received my Application for Examinations. How can I receive the application?

The examination application form can be downloaded from the University website www.alagappauniversity.ac.in. The filled in applications may be sent directly to the Controller of Examinations, Alagappa University.
