Admission Procedure

Regular Programmes:
  • Applications for PG, UG. and Diploma programmes will be issued from the first week of April every year.
  • Applications for M.Phil. programmes will be issued from the first week of June every year.
  • Applications for M.Phil. (Summer Sequential Programme) will be issued from the first week of January every year.
Request for Application:

Applications can be obtained from the Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi - 630 003, on payment of its cost as applicable by means of crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Alagappa University, payable at Karaikudi.
The cost of application is notified in the admission notification.

Applications can be had either in person or through post.

Candidates can even download application form from the Alagappa University website, and apply online as well.

The following documents are required to be enclosed along with the filled-in application form:
  • A photo-copy of entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate & Degree / Provisional Certificate.
  • A photo-copy of the Statement of Marks (HSC/Diploma/Degree).
  • A photo copy of Community Certificate.
  • Demand Draft for the application fee drawn in favour of the The Registrar, Alagappa University, payable at any bank in Karaikudi.
Submission of filled-in Application:

Candidates should submit the filled-in application form, along with the required documents, during the office hours (10.00 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.) on all working days by post, before the stipulated date to the address given below:-

i.  B.Ed. / M.Ed. Entrance Test mark only
ii. All M.B.As / M.C.A. Entrance Test and Group Discussion / Interview marks
iii. M.Sc. Biotechnology Entrance Test and Group Discussion / Interview marks
iv. M.P.Ed. / B.P.Ed. / D.P.Ed. Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test & Games Test marks
v. All Other Programmes On the basis of marks obtained in the Qualifying Degree exam.
vi. All M.Phil. programmes Entrance Test marks (50%) and Qualifying Degree marks (50%)

Provisionally selected candidates will be intimated by post/electronically.

Admission Requirement: All selections are PROVISIONAL ONLY, until fulfilment of all eligibility and other requirement criteria.

On receipt of admission intimation, candidates willing to join the course should submit their prescribed ORIGINAL certificates with an undertaking signed by their Parents/Guardians. They must remit the fees either annually/semester-wise within the stipulated date, as prescribed by the University.

NOTE: Selected candidates who do not report for joining and/or do not pay the required fees within the prescribed period will forfeit their seats.
Selected candidates should submit the following Original Certificates to their respective Head of the Department at the time of admission.

ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES: Original Cumulative Statement of Marks/Grade Certificates, Provisional Certificate, Transfer Certificate of the qualifying degree, Community Certificate (for verification and return) and Medical Fitness Certificate. Two Passport-size photo-graphs need to be produced then.

  • Separate Hostel facilities (Board & Lodging) are available for male and female candidates.
  • Those who need Hostel accommodation may approach the Wardens of the respective Hostels, by producing their admission-fee receipts.
  • Hostel fees are fixed by the authorities at the time of admission every year.
  • Board charges for every month will be collected under Dividing System.
