About the Department
The Department of Animal Health and Management (DAHM) was established in 2008 and has been offering programs such as M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Zoology since 2011. The Department is equipped with experienced faculty members who specialize in Biomaterials and Biotechnology in Animal Health, Phage Therapy, Alternative Medicine for Disease Control and Prevention, Vermiculture Technology, Pharmacognosy and Molecular Cancer Biology.
Few accomplishments as follows- Secured funds from agencies including DBT, DST, UGC, CSIR and SERB.
- Accumulated a total project value of Rs. 318.49 lakh from extramural research.
- Demonstrated a notable h-index (Web of Science) – 59.
- Published 583 research articles in peer-reviewed indexed journals.
- Supervised and awarded Ph.D degrees to 31 scholars.
- Generated revenue via extension activities (Vermi, Mushroom and Fish Culture).
