A two-year regular master’s program is offered by the Department of Fisheries Science. This program has 23 courses with a total of 90 credits. Selection is on a merit basis based on the qualifying Degree Examinations.

The Fisheries Department has a smart classroom, lab, aquarium, culture pond and 24 × 7 Internet facilities. Students will be provided with a computer, LCD for their presentation. Many department-level clubs such as Seminar and Quiz clubs, Environmental clubs, Journal clubs, and Cultural clubs are available to enrich the students’ confidence, willingness, and ability to take on academic, professional, and personal challenges.

The department boasts an extensive collection comprising reference books, textbooks, current journals, manuals, bulletins, and theses. This diverse array of resources is meticulously organized to facilitate the gathering, arrangement, and dissemination of information, effectively meeting the academic community's informational needs. Furthermore, internet facilities are readily accessible for students seeking additional references. The Department has a well-established museum with a good collection of Fish specimens of living and non-living resources for students and the Public.

Student Council Activities

The University's Placement Cell is committed to delivering job-focused training to students and overseeing their career advancement. This dedicated cell provides comprehensive training in key areas such as communication development, technical aptitude, general aptitude, personality development, self-confidence, and motivation. Industry experts lead these training sessions. Practical classes, as well as industrial and field visits, are integrated into all semesters to ensure well-rounded training. Students have the flexibility to choose internships in aquaculture farms, seafood processing industries, or research institutes according to their preferences. The final semester's dissertation enhances students' confidence, preparing them for successful placements.
