The Ramanujan Centre for Higher Mathematics (RCHM) came into existence in 2006, with its inauguration officiated by former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, in 2011. Notably, the establishment of this research centre was championed and facilitated by the esteemed former Chairman of ISRO, Dr. Kasthuri Rangan. One captivating feature of the Ramanujan Centre is its incorporation of mathematical symbols into the architecture, designed to immerse researchers in a truly mathematical environment, stimulating their creativity and fostering a sense of connection to their field. The Centre aims to conduct and foster outstanding research and learning methods in both pure and applied mathematical sciences. Moreover, the members of the research centre collaborate with international experts in their area of research to ensure strong Indo-foreign participation and also collaborate with researchers from top ranked Indian institutions to enhance the knowledge sharing in the Centre's programmes.
The Research Centre provides opportunities for visiting research fellows, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students to work within the research foci of the faculty members of the research Centre like Abstract and Fractional Differential Equations, Stability Analysis of Dynamical Systems, Neural Networks, Synchronization Theory, Genetic Algorithms and Regulatory Networks, Multi-agent Systems, Vehicular Suspension System, Machine Learning Algorithms, Complex Dynamical Networks, Multi-layered Networks, Under Water Vehicle Dynamics, Graph Theory, Discrete Mathematics, Algorithmic and Algebric Graph Theory. Based on the above areas of interest, we developed and strengthen some strong mathematical methods based on general and powerful modeling and corresponding in-depth structural knowledge. Especially, we have constructed a strong mathematical model to eradicate the mosquito borne diseases like Chikungunya, Dengue, Calara, Typhoid etc.,
Its main goals are to train highly skilled young mathematicians across the entire breadth of mathematics, to develop innovative application-oriented mathematics with a focus on data-driven modelling, simulation, and optimization, and to open up new mathematical thinking spaces. This contributes and motivates to the next generation of the faculty members and research students in many spheres and the advancement of multicultural environment.
The Centre is doing research collaborations with various Universities/Institutions/ Research Centre’s like Nanjing University, Jiangsu University of Technology, South East University, Hunan Normal University, Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, China, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, University of Bielefeld, Germany, Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation, Australia, University of Derby, UK, Maejo University, Thailand, Taibah University, Saudi Arabia, Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia, Cankaya University, Turkey, Mississippi University, USA, Texas A & M University, Kingsville, USA.
Our faculty members have received 28.50 lakhs from the completed major and minor research projects from UGC, DST(SERB) agencies. Also, they supported & mainly contributed towards the common research grants for School of Mathematics received from University Grants Commission, Department of Science & Technology like UGC(SAP) DRS I, DST (FIST), RUSA 2.0. They also have received prestigious awards and recognition from various Universities, organizations and registered bodies. Having knowledge in the thrust areas of interest of the faculty, they published more than 120 research papers in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journals with a cumulative impact factor of 355 with a H-index of 29. Moreover, they conducted State Level Quiz Programmes for PG students to nurture the mathematical knowledge to the student’s community and organized many National & International seminars, conferences, workshops to explore and disseminate their research ability among the mathematics community worldwide. They also serving as a reviewer for more than 25 SCI journals and edited some special issues in Mathematics Computers in Simulation (Elsevier Publication), Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP Publication), AIMS Mathematics (AIMS Press), Mathematics (MDPI Publication), Contemporary Mathematics (universal Wiser Publication).
To establish a strong partnership with industry through the implementation of advanced training programs tailored to specific industrial requirements, in collaboration with Dr. Bruce Van Brunt from Massey University, New Zealand. This initiative aims to contribute to capacity building and foster collaboration on innovative projects
