The University academic system consists of 4 Faculties, 11 Schools, 44 Departments, 2 Constituent Colleges and offers various academic programmes at UG, PG, PG Diploma, Diploma, Certificate levels. Academic session starts on July and ends on April every year.
Admission notification to academic programmes is normally notified in the month of March/April every year in the University website, Department Notice Boards as well as through Newspapers.
Cost of application for Entrance-based programme is Rs. 600; for Non-Entrance & PG Diploma Programme is Rs. 400; for UG and 5 Year-Integrated Programme is Rs. 250; for Diploma and Certificate Programme is Rs. 150.
Application fee concession is available for SC/ST candidates. Physically challenged candidates are exempted from the payment of Tuition fee and Special Fee. Only Tuition fee is exempted for SC/ST Candidates and all other fees to be remitted by them. Students belonging to Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Community and Adi-Dravidar students converted to Christianity are exempted from Tuition Fee as per Tamil Nadu Govt. vide GO No.13724/SC&ST/2014-1, dated. 9.2.2015. International students should pay DOUBLE the Tuition fee with other fee as applicable.
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit and the reservation policy of Govt. of Tamil Nadu. 5% of the seats are reserved for differently-abled students in all the programmes (Government Letter No.12599/K2/2017-1, dated 21.07.2017).
Selection process for B.Ed. Programme is by Entrance Test mark only; for all MBA programmes is by Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Interview marks; for M.Sc. Biotechnology and MCA programmes by Entrance Test and Interview marks; for M.Sc. Programmes (Physics / Chemistry / Microbiology / Mathematics) is by 50% marks in Entrance Test and 50% marks in Qualifying degree; for Physical Education programmes (MPEd / BPEd / DPEd / B.Sc) is by Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test & Games Test marks; for all other programmes on the basis of Marks obtained in the Qualifying Degree Exam.
Provisionally selected candidates will be intimated by email and also made available in candidate login. All selections are provision only, until fulfillment of all eligibility and other requirements. On receipt of admission intimation, candidates shall join the programme with submission of their Original Certificates (Cumulative Statement of Marks / Grade Certificates, Provisional Certificate, Transfer Certificate of the qualifying degree, Community Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate for verification and return except T.C. and Medical Fitness Certificate. Two Passport-size photographs need to be produced to their respective Head of the Department at the time of admission with an undertaking signed by their Parent / Guardian. They must remit the Tuition fee either annually / semester-wise within the stipulated date, as prescribed by the University. Selected candidates who do not report for joining and/or do not pay the required Tuition fee within the prescribed period will forfeit their seats.
