Centre for International Relations (CIR), Alagappa University explores opportunities for association with Overseas Universities and Institutes for Collaborative Ventures of mutual benefit. CIR extends its arms for building warm relationship with like-minded Overseas Institutions of Higher Learning. CIR also commits to evaluate Capability, Character and Candidness of Institutions before forging alliances. In addition to research collaborations, building MoU and inviting visiting Professors, the CIR assumes responsibility for exchanging Faculty and Students under Exchange programs to globalized learning and research.
CIR is responsible for admission of students under categories of Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians, People of Indian Origin and Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries for Post Graduate degree (M.A.,M.Com., M.Sc., MBA) and M.Phil. / Ph.D. programs in all disciplines. The essential qualification for enrolment is 10 + 2+ 3 years of education or its equivalent. The medium of Instruction is English.

Dr. C. Sekar has been serving as the Director of the Centre for International Relations since March 2016. He has received his Ph.D. degree in materials science from Anna University, Chennai in the year 1997 with specialization in the area of nanotechnology. He has served as Post Doctoral Researcher for three years (1997-2000) at NTT Corporation, Japan and as Guest Scientist in the Institute for Solid Sate and Materials Research (IFW)-Dresden, Germany for about 5 years (2000-2005). After serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and as Coordinator of the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology at Periyar University, Salem for about 5 years (2005-10), Dr. Sekar has joined Alagappa University as Professor and Head of the Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors in March 2010 and continues his service till date. He had participated and delivered lectures in several international conferences in Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, South Korea, The Netherlands, USA, Singapore and China. With this good exposure to the international institutions, Dr. Sekar is keen in building warm relationship with like-minded Overseas Institutions of Higher Learning and internationalisation of Alagappa University.
Dr. R. Raja has been serving as a Deputy Director for Centre for International Relations since 2018. He received his M.Sc., M.Phil., and PhD degrees in Mathematics from Periyar University, Salem, India, in 2005, 2006 and 2011, respectively. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Ramanujan Centre for Higher Mathematics, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India. He received the Sir.C.V. Raman Budding Innovator Award for the year 2010 from our former president of India Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in the award ceremony organized by Periyar University, India. Recently he has received the "365 Years of Fractional Calculus Award" which is a notable award in the research field concerned from Brunei University, Turkey. His research interests include fractional differential equations, neural networks, genetic regulatory networks, robust nonlinear control, stochastic systems, stability analysis of dynamical systems, synchronization and chaos theory. He has authored and co-authored for more than 110 publications in these research areas in Science Citation Indexed Journals. He was a Guest Editor for special issues in Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, MDPI, AIMS Mathematics and Contemporary Mathematics, also he served as a reviewer for more than 25 SCI journals.
