It is the flagship leadership development programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The three-week training programme (2 weeks Domestic and 1 week International) is aimed at second-level academic functionaries in public-funded, higher education institutions. Objectives (i) Provide visionary leadership and strategic thrust to higher educational institutions leading to academic excellence, (ii) Lead and enable academic as well as administrative teams and a diverse workforce, through positive work culture and teamwork throughout the institution, (iii) Facilitate higher education leaders to competently deal with leadership challenges that arise in academic institutions , (iv) Facilitate innovation and creativity in teaching as well as learning, and overall effectiveness of the institutions, (v) Explore technology for both deeper engagement and wider delivery, (vi) Bring in performance culture and efficiency, (vii) Inspire global thought leadership within Indian academia.
